A BRIEF HISTORY.
Harmony Youth Project which began in Bolton in 2001, was set up to act as a port of call and direct youths to other services to further themselves in education. “We are trying to break the stigma of school and develop networks with colleges and further education.
Harmony Youth Project was set up to assist young people aged between 8 and 21 years old, especially those who are disadvantaged, in realising their true potential through the medium of creative arts, social integrational activities and extra-curricular activities and courses. We provide activities focused around music production, photography, cooking, keeping fit, cv writing and interview skills for youngsters not in education, employment or training (NEET), cv writing, anti-bullying initiatives and much more, participants can gain nationally-recognised qualifications. Similar workshops are also available outside school hours for those in full-time education.
Why we exist
We also work with Youth Offending Teams to deliver counselling sessions with youngsters and also looks at teenage pregnancies, substance misuse and sexual exploitation among young women. Candidates from the Job Centre are also offered work experience as they engage with the youngsters. “Harmony Youth started off as a music-based therapy, but it has now developed into film, Photography, drama, dance, multi-media and occupational, anti-social behaviour projects such as anti-bullying.

Bolton Youth Offending Team works with young people aged 10 to 17 and their families. They one simple aim which is to reduce offending by children and young people.
Bolton Youth Challenge
Youth Challenge is an alternative educational provision for key stage 3 and 4 pupils. Based over three sites the unit has a capability to educate 64 young people at any one time. The teaching and mentoring staff at the units prepare individualised timetables for each young person with a focus on academic studies which includes Maths, English and ICT. They offer the young people a variety of informal education options including vocational studies and enrichment activities.
Bolton Connections
Bolton Connections continue to offer professional and impartial careers information, advice and guidance to 13 to 19 year-olds. They provide careers information, advice and guidance to young people who are at risk of NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) for various reasons and will also provide help to young people with learning difficulties or disabilities, with their move into further education, training or employment.
Jobcentre Plus
The Jobcentre agency provides services primarily to those attempting to find employment and to those requiring the issuing of a financial provision due to, in the first case, lack of employment. They provide an allowance to assist with the living costs and expenditure intrinsic to the effort to achieve employment.

Bolton College
Bolton College is a further education college located in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. The college is primarily based in Bolton, but operates a number of Community Learning Centres in the surrounding area.
